  CTET September 2026 Selection Process, Exam Pattern & Detailed Syllabus

The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the official notification for CTET September 2026. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted for candidates who want to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in Central Government schools, CBSE-affiliated schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), and other eligible institutions.

  CTET is divided into two papers:

• Paper I → For Classes I to V (Primary Stage)
• Paper II → For Classes VI to VIII (Elementary Stage)

    Candidates who want to teach both levels must appear in both papers.

   CTET Paper I Exam Pattern (Classes I to V)

    Paper I is for candidates who want to become Primary Teachers.

    CTET Paper II Exam Pattern (Classes VI to VIII)

  Paper II is for candidates who want to become Upper Primary Teachers.

   Important:

• Mathematics & Science section is for Science/Math teachers
• Social Science section is for Social Studies teachers
• Other subject teachers can choose either section

• CTET certificate validity is Lifetime
• No limit on number of attempts

     Candidates must choose two different languages as Language I and Language II while filling the CTET application form.
