PSPCL JE Electrical Recruitment 2026 – Exam Pattern, Syllabus & Selection Process


1. Exam Pattern

  • The online examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
  • Total Questions: 100 MCQs
  • Total Marks: 100 Marks
  • Duration: 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer

  • Section-wise Distribution:

    • Electrical (Core Subject): 50 Questions
    • Punjabi Language: 20 Questions
    • General Knowledge: 10 Questions
    • Reasoning Ability: 10 Questions
    • General English: 10 Questions

      • Reserved Categories: 35%

      • 4. Normalization Process
      • If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, normalization will be applied.
      • This ensures fairness by adjusting differences in difficulty levels across shifts.

      • 5. Selection Process
      • The selection process consists of the fullowing stages:

      • Stage 1: Online Written Examination
      • Candidates must appear in the CBT exam.

      • Stage 2: Merit List Preparation
      • Merit will be based on marks obtained in the online exam.
      • Normalized scores will be considered (if applicable).

      • Stage 3: Document Verification
      • Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.

      • 6. Tie-Breaking Rule
      • If two or more candidates score equal marks,
      • → Older candidate (higher age) will be ranked higher in merit.

      • 7. Important Notes
      • Admit cards will be released in two phases:
      • Initial admit card (without exam center)
      • Final admit card (with exam center details)
      • Exam center once allotted cannot be changed
      • Answer key will be released after the exam for objections
