3. Exam Type

    • Stenographer Grade D: 80 words per minute
    • Stenographer Grade C: 100 words per minute

Transcription Time

Grade D:

  • English: 50 minutes (70 minutes for scribe candidates)
  • Hindi: 65 minutes (90 minutes for scribe candidates)

Grade C:

  • English: 40 minutes (55 minutes for scribe candidates)
  • Hindi: 55 minutes (75 minutes for scribe candidates)

10. Skill Test Rules

  • Dictation will be given in English or Hindi (as chosen in application form)
  • Candidates choosing Hindi stenography must learn English stenography after selection and vice versa
  • Skill test will be conducted at SSC Regional Centres or designated centres
